The first China Intelligent Power Industry Development Forum opened in Beijing.

On August 16, 2014, the "First China Smart Power Industry Development Forum" was grandly opened in Beijing Yizhuang Development Zone, jointly hosted by the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University, Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone (National Level), and Jiangsu Province (Zhangjiagang) Intelligent Power Research Institute! The theme of this forum is "New Technology, New Challenges, New Opportunities." More than 120 central enterprises, large state-owned enterprises, listed companies, and high-growth innovative companies from the power-related industry across the country gathered in Yizhuang to exchange the achievements of smart power industry development and discuss how to meet the tide of revolution in China's energy consumption, supply, technology, and system.
On June 13, General Secretary Xi presided over the sixth meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Leadership Group, proposing four "revolutions" and one "strengthening": namely, promoting the energy consumption revolution to curb unreasonable energy consumption; promoting the energy supply revolution to establish a diversified supply system; promoting the energy technology revolution to drive industrial upgrading; promoting the energy system revolution to open up the fast track for energy development; at the same time, comprehensively strengthening international cooperation to achieve energy security under open conditions. The revolutionary changes in the energy sector will be an immensely large-scale energy system transformation project. Many power-related enterprises in our country will face severe tests of transformation and upgrading, and they must also seize unprecedented infinite business opportunities! Decision-makers of many power-related enterprises are invigorated, actively thinking about how to progress from "followers" to "parallel runners," and how to leap from "parallel runners" to "leaders."
At the forum, many experts delivered keynote speeches, including Professor Han Yingduo from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Yu Yixin from the School of Electrical Engineering at Tianjin University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Secretary-General of the Expert Committee of China Southern Power Grid and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Li Lishan, President of the China Electric Power Research Institute and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Guo Jianbo, and Wei Zhaofeng, Vice Chairman of the China Electric Power Enterprise Union. During the conference, 19 smart power industry enterprises initiated the establishment of the Smart Power Industry University-Research Alliance and held a ceremony for the unveiling of the alliance. The alliance aims to promote the integration and sharing of resources across industries, advance the establishment of a complete standard and intellectual property system, build a platform for information exchange, technical cooperation, and market application in industry-university-research communication, strengthen full communication with government departments and related industries, support the healthy development of the smart power and related industries, and carry out public welfare undertakings beneficial to social development.
