According to the "14th Five-Year Plan" application plan for the Beidou Satellite Navigation System released by the Southern Power Grid Company (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), the company is building an operational service platform that integrates basic modules such as Beidou positioning services, short message communication management, and time-frequency monitoring. According to the plan, the platform will be launched and operational by the end of June this year, providing high-precision Beidou positioning services for the five provinces and regions of Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hainan served by the Southern Power Grid.
Beidou high-precision positioning services can achieve meter-level, sub-meter-level, centimeter-level, and millimeter-level accuracy, playing an important role in autonomous inspection of power grid drones and geological disaster monitoring.
According to the "Plan", by 2022, the Southern Power Grid will achieve full coverage of autonomous inspections for 500 kV and above lines; by 2025, the Southern Power Grid will establish no less than 300 Beidou high-precision geological disaster monitoring stations to provide accurate real-time geological disaster monitoring and early warning services for transmission lines within the coverage area. Currently, the Southern Power Grid has piloted geological disaster monitoring applications in provinces such as Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, and Guizhou, enhancing safety management and disaster warning capabilities through real-time monitoring of geological changes and tower conditions.
The "Plan" systematically outlines various power application scenarios for the Southern Power Grid to promote the integration of Beidou applications with power business from three major aspects: infrastructure construction, platform construction, and business applications, conducting in-depth applications of the Beidou system in eight major business areas including production technology, infrastructure, materials, marketing, scheduling, safety supervision, international, and public.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Southern Power Grid will further expand the application scope of the Beidou system in the power business, combining the characteristics of the power industry, utilizing the independently developed Beidou operational service platform and related terminal equipment to create a series of typical demonstration applications with company characteristics, and based on the company's unified data center, carry out data collection and sharing to enhance the level of data sharing and intelligent decision-making in the smart grid.
It is reported that the Southern Power Grid has fully completed the construction of 607 base stations covering the company's power supply area by the end of 2020 and is actively carrying out key technology research and joint laboratory construction for the Beidou system.
